At the Coast VW workshop we are just doing a 2.2 engine replacement for this 16″ Volkswagen Syncro. The original engine was also a waterboxer but was getting tired and worn out hence why owner opted to upgrade….we can build engines to a high standard so feel free to get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Swedish import now RHD and of course tax exempt.
Unique opportunity to own an early baywindow that has been sympathetically restored but also modified to improve its driveability…..yes it steers (steering wheel now on the right hand side) and stops
Looks great with its beautifully restored and detailed body in its original factory colours and all the original VW deluxe trim.
When we purchased this very solid unrestored Swedish import from its first UK owner we decided that we wanted it to look pretty stock but drive more like its older cousin the T25 and this is what we have achie..
An existing customer wanted to carry his spare wheel inside the vehicle, without losing too much space. We have just fabricated this bracket so his wheel can now sit behind the drivers seat. His choice was partly due to the fact that his vehicle is predominantly an expedition truck so he has a full length roof tent above and a spare fuel tank in his spare wheel cavity below.
It’s been a busy few weeks in the workshop and we are excited to announce we will shortly be launching and online web shop specialising in Volkswagen parts and camping products. Still a couple of weeks away from launch but please like our new facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/coastvw to keep informed of news, events and promotional codes etc….
This Volkswagen T5 came into the Coast VW workshop to have side windows cut and fit into its side panels. The customer opted for a sliding window on one side and a solid window on the other – it has transformed the van in just a mornings work.
A nice package arrived at the Coast VW workshop this morning containing Seikel Springs and Old Man Emu gas dampers which will be fitted on a 16″ Volkswagen T25 Syncro the Coast VW team are currently building up before shipping out to New Caledonia where it will be getting a lot of off-road use.
One of our customers who had a full restoration, camper conversion and engine upgrade last year has just been in touch after completing the Mac4x4 for the second time to say his truck performed impeccably throughout the 4 day event , which with a 2.5ltr Subaru engine we would expect
The Mac4x4 is a long-distance endurance driving and navigational event & covers approximately 1,000 miles on motorways, A, B, minor roads and tracks, with off road, green lane and night navigation trial sections. More information can be found at – //www.mac4x4.co.uk/

VW South African late 2001 T25 complete Body shell in factory Jazz Blue Metallic.
The owner of the shell has asked us to sell this unique find on his behalf, It was imported into the UK from South Africa VW shortly after it was built. Paper work is in order with all duties etc paid for.
The shell has never been built up, it has some suspension components bolted in so the owner could move it as required. The shell has been stored in a Garage undercover since its arrival in the UK.
People talk about rust free shells….well this is as new.
The shell comes with new genuine VW side w..
The Coast VW team have just completed this Volkswagen T25 Club Joker campervan restoration. If you have been following this restoration through our Blog over the past few months then you will know the extent of the rust was much worse than we had originally feared.
This is now a lovely example of a Volkswagen T25 campervan, it looks stunning and is beautiful to drive. In our opinion the Volkswagen T25 is still the best driving campervan that Volkswagen ever made
The Coast VW team are currently rebuilding this Volkswagen T25 16″ Syncro which has just been resprayed Escorial Green having had a full metal work restoration with us. We have nearly finished the full Dynomat internal lining and now the roof rack and spare wheel cover are back from the powder coaters they have also been refitted – look great against the green paintwork.
Wow – this is a sight you don’t see everyday. This very late Volkswagen T25 South African Shell was imported 14 years ago direct from the Volkswagen Factory in Uitenhage. Despite the new owners best intentions this van was never built up and put on the road and has in fact just been sitting pretty in a container for all these years.
Having arrived at our workshop yesterday we now need to decide what our next move is…..watch this space
Unfortunately this 14″ Volkswagen Syncro Double Cab pick-up has been driven with a seized viscus coupling which has resulted in damage to the gearbox and front diff. Both have been removed from vehicle and sent of to a specialist for rebuild.
We are now hoping for a relatively quick rebuild as this great Volkswagen Syncro is the owners daily work truck so he cant be without it for too long
What you don’t want in this weather is a leak in your Volkswagen campervan high top roof, especially if the headlining has just been replaced. This van has just come down to us from Bournemouth , we haven’t had chance to look at it yet as it is the 5th van to be dropped off in as many days but it is in the queque for next week…at least it is now in our dry workshop where it can’t fill up any further….which is a good job considering the storm that has been forecast-ed this weekend…..at least the six nations is starting
This Volkswagen T25 Westfalia body rebuild is coming together nicely – have spent the past couple of days buttoning up the underside…. LPG tank, new front to back stainless steel cooling pipes, renewed brake lines and a new clutch.
Onto the mechanical’s next week...
We have just fitted these four rear parking sensors to this Volkswagen T25 14″ Syncro which should help prevent those dented rear corners…..
We repair quite a few rear ‘parking’ scuffs so this is possible a cheaper option in the longer run for many of you.
‘Dirty Corner’ is being put to good use with its first restoration. This VW T25 Club Joker is currently at the Coast VW workshop for a full body restoration and repaint.
We had this wooden box fabricated last month and it is doing a stirling job of containing all the metal dust and grind – making it easier to maintain a clean(ish) workshop….
Here were the final pictures of a recent restoration we did. This VW Syncro came to the Coast VW workshop as a tin top caravelle that was riddled with rust. The Coast VW team undertook a lot of work to make the Syncro structurally safe (inner and outer sills, seat belt mountings and A-pillars all replaced), it then had a Subaru 2.5 engine conversion, a full camping interior fitted and then a mechanical overhaul to include replacement springs and shocks with a small lift, upgraded brakes and stainless steel exhaust. Plus loads of other little extras – was a very special truck by the end
The Coast VW team were rather thrilled to get their copy of the October issue of VW Volkswagen Camper & Commercial Magazine today – one of our recent restorations had a six page spread. It was a very cool restoration and very worthy of the feature….happy days
This lovely example of a Volkswagen T25 Syncro 16″ Doka left the Coast VW workshop last week having been with us for 4 months. The Coast VW team undertook a full body restoration on this classic vehicle followed by a full respray in its original Dove blue (VW Paint code LH5G). It also had a 1.9 engine conversion, gearbox rebuild, trailmaster shocks, brake upgrade front, polybush work and stainless steel exhaust. It has gone back to London where the owner uses it as his daily work truck, happy days!
This Volkswagen T25 Westfalia California is close to completion – it has had its new decals fitted to its shiny new paintwork, along with new Deluxe Window trims, carpets will be fitted later today and then a few small jobs to do on the camping interior – should be leaving the Coast VW workshop in North Devon after Easter weekend.
This Volkswagen Danbury came into the Coast VW workshop to have a new gearbox fitted as it kept popping out of reverse gear, all sorted now and ready for the owners to enjoy the sunshine!
