A little light metal work surgery on this 16 inch Volkswagen Doka. The front jacking point had corroded and taken the front edge of the sill with it so we removed the outer section on the front outrigger to allow correct repairs inside the B pillar.  We will now fabricate a new sill section along with the supporting frame inside the sill, before making the outrigger section and stitching it all back together, when finished it will be an invisible repair. ..

The CoastVW team have been investigating a leaking roof on this Volkswagen T3 Westfalia high top. We decided to take the roof of to make a clear assessment of how bad the damage is. #coastvw #vwt3roofrepairs #vwt3camperleakingroof..

This VW T3 Reimo popped into the CoastVW workshop as it was experiencing issues with the twin carb set up. We replaced all the fuel lines, synchronised the carbs and traced the running issue to a split servo take off pipe. ..

Here are the newly made up roof repair sections to fit to the VW T3 Syncro we blogged about recently which had a heavily corroded roof. This photo shows the repair sections having a trial fitting before being cut in. ..

We've got an exciting year in front of us at CoastVW as we have just secured a new workshop premises...so much bigger then our current location, so we've got a busy few months getting it in tip top condition...we'll keep you updated on the progress ..

HI HO HI HO......off to Edinburgh this van goes....the full body restoration and Subaru engine conversion on this VW T3 campervan has come to a close and is off to be reunited with its owner :) :) :) :) :) ..

Rebuild continues for this VW T3 Early Caravelle. Its had a custom pale yellow paint which was mixed especially for this build. This image shows the front end build coming along nicely. ..

All the boys happen to be busy working on engines today. Ross is fabricating a new engine loom for this Subaru engine conversion, Ash is repairing this 1.6 air-cooled engine as it had pulled 3 cylinder head studs and Pete is finishing of the installation of this 1.9 (customer supplied) diesel engine. ..

Ash has been busy working on this lovely air cooled Volkswagen T3 Camper, getting new carburetors fitted and setting up the engine. ..

After a 12 month restoration she made it to the church on time - and I think the smile on their faces says it all! Formal photo's to follow...well done to all the team @ CoastVW   ..

Volkswagen T3 Syncro Metalwork Restoration - This picture shows the sill on a VW T3 - a common area of corrosion. Many restorers cut out the middle section but we remove the entire sill and replace the inner and outer sections. ..

James has had a busy week prepping this VW T3 bodyshell ready for paint. ..

The CoastVW workshop is busy as ever - this 14" VW Syncro is in from Jersey having a mechanical overhaul (engine and gearbox rebuild), the late Baywindow campervan has just been prepped ready for its topcoat, the 1966 Splitscreen just tucked around the corner has just had its metal work restoration completed and the in-house VW T25 Syncro panel van might one day get its full camper conversion. Busy times :) ..

The rear suspension turret on this VW T25 16" Syncro had completely rotted away on the inside so we have fabricated a new 3mm plate to fit in, then we could fit the newly powder coated trailing arm and the new suspension. The owner opted for the H&R set up, this gives some flexibility on setting the ride height - and looks good too! ..

Love it when the Postie brings us exciting parcels on a Friday morning.....new Seikel springs for the Coast VW T5 Transporter Kombi 4Motion....watch this space :)   ..

Back in at the Coast VW workshop is one of our favourite Syncro's (in one of our favourite colours). This VW T25 14" Syncro has come in to have long range fuel tanks fitted before its next road trip. Will be worked on next month once we've waded through January's 'to do' list!! Busy busy!! ..

In at the Coast VW workshop is an interesting VW T25 which comes with a Westfalia roof and has a Subaru engine fitted. It came to us having failed its MOT on suspension work. Whilst with us it is having new springs and Trailmaster 'Element' shocks, some polybush work to the front end, anti-roll bar links and steering rack. HEL brake lines (in orange) and once all these jobs buttoned up it will have a full underbody wax job to see it through the winter. ..
